North Norfolk has the perfect growing conditions for barley.

The climate is characterised by sea frets – early morning mists rolling off the sea and lengthening the time of the ripening barley.

The soil has a low nitrate which is important for barley that will be used for making ale.

Ale malts need a low amount of nitrogen – between 1.4% and 1.6 % and North Norfolk barley is also perfect for ale making barley.
